This work is part of a larger series, "Painted Girls", based on the 1665 Vermeer painting "Girl with a Pear Earring". The artist uses the unblemished young girl's face as a starting point for an investigation of identities and personality.
Using an artificial intelligence algorithm, the work "Girl With Dark Eyes" shows an algithmical fusion of a portrait of an African woman with the girl from the Vermeer painting.
