This excellent work by the artist Reinhold Knapp deals with the power of symmetry. It is one of the strongest aesthetic criteria and is ultimately due to the attractive appearance of symmetrical bodies (symmetry = health). In art, however, absolute symmetry very quickly leads to boredom, as the urge to discover in a static, symmetrical work wanes after a short time. But not in the present, dynamically developing work by the artist, in which he has broken the absolute symmetry through the different colors of the two mirrored sides.
