We are very excited to introduce a new series on the elementum blog section, titled “Meet the Team” where you get to meet the people behind the platform that only offers you important and historical NFTs. This entry is on Michel Gurnari, Project Manager at Tokengate and COO of elementum.
Q: What was the first NFT that you bought? Michel: My first NFT that I bought was "Mountain" by Josh Rigling. I bought it because I thought it was beautiful. That was in the summer of 2020.
Q: What is your favourite NFT drop by elementum? Michel: My favorite artwork on elementum is the HOMAGE TO GERHARD RICHTER" by Frieder Nake. Without Frieder, digital art today might not be what it is. He is one of the greatest pioneers and besides, we had the honor to meet Frieder in person. He is an incredible personality. All these factors lead to this being my favorite piece of art.
Watch below digital art curator, Georg Bak, discussing with the founding father of algorithmic art, Frieder Nake, about his NFT release "HOMAGE TO GERHARD RICHTER"
Q: What did you do before you joined elementum? Michel: I graduated from high school and started my first company at the age of 18 in the field of e-commerce. I ran that until I started at elementum.
Q: What attracted you to the space and why is that? Michel: The opportunity to be a part of something that wasn't really established until that point and was laughed at by many. I wanted to teach these people better.
Q: Who is your favourite NFT artist and why? Michel: Ganbrood. He manages with each of his works to stimulate my imagination so that I think up my own story to the works, that manage very few artists.
