This exclusive artwork is part of a collection of generative animations exploring the boundaries of sentience through form, motion, texture, color and interaction. Using a combination of generative systems, dynamics, simulation, and pose-to-pose animation, Marjan Moghaddam creates sculptural forms that are abstract yet lifelike at the same time, with distinct behaviors and personality parameters suggestive of agency and gender, exploring the possibilities for digital beings. The dyadic coupling is a pairing rooted in the binary principal. "The acting ideal of animation can sometimes expand beyond the boundaries of animation tools, imaginatively, into the realm of digital possibilities for form and sentience. I was genuinely shocked when the generative components of of what I was using went beyond what I was animating, by creating their own acting", the artist adds.
